Staff

Our counselors are all certified school teachers and coaches who are specialists in their field and are passionate about sharing their expertise with each camper. Our instructors are among the finest in the country and set us apart from other camps.

Blue Bell Camp Counselors 2015
Each Blue Bell counselor has three roles at camp: teaching one activity that is their special area of expertise, driving children safely to and from camp in their car or a camp-provided van, and mentoring a group of 10 children as a "homeroom" counselor.

Our counselors are mature adults, always over the age of 23 and with an average age of 30. They must have or obtain their Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint based record check. We also conduct reference checks and a Motor Vehicle Report, as well as extensive interviews and pre-camp trainings.

Blue Bell counselors become part of our family and stay with us for many years! We expect them to teach and care for our campers with empathy, enthusiasm, and dedication and share as much of their knowledge and skills with them as possible. In return, we compensate them generously and plan multiple counselor get-togethers in the evenings and off-season (home cooked meals, swimming, softball, Phillies game, golf outing, etc.) where counselors can socialize and network with other like-minded teachers. We are confident that at BBC you will find the most supportive and appreciative "administration" as well as the most fun and rewarding teaching experience you will ever have!
