Activities

Our professional, mature teachers and coaches instruct each of the following 22 activities as if we were a specialty camp in that activity. Each activity has its own curriculum that builds upon what was learned the previous week. Our comprehensive 8-week instructional program improves knowledge and skills while promoting independence and confidence. The camp schedule is structured so that each child has swimming and baseball daily and the other activities weekly. Small group sizes of 10 children allow for both team and one-on-one instruction to maximize productivity and fun.

We also teach Chess, Fencing, Newcombe, Ping Pong, Tetherball, and more!

Independent Play Time

Chess An important part of our day that takes place as the campers are arriving is "Independent Play Time." This 45 minute period is a great opportunity for campers to practice their decision-making and to choose what activities they would like to do and who they would like to play with, boy or girl, older or younger. They can spend extra time at a favorite activity or try an activity that is not included in the weekly group schedule such as Chess, Newcombe, Kickball, etc. Since we de-emphasize competition while teaching the activities, the campers who are interested in more competition can also join a soccer or basketball league during this time in the mornings.

The Leadership Program

Leadership Program We offer the Blue Bell Leadership Program to a select group of campers as part of their weekly schedule. Participation in this character-building program is designed to create confident and respected leaders. Our oldest Division accepts a limited number of fifth, fourth, and older third graders to take part in this innovative and one of a kind program. As our oldest campers, their age group will have unique opportunities to develop their leadership skills and become role models for the rest of the camp. We feel that understanding and implementing the important principles of leadership will help our campers achieve both personal and academic success. The members of the Senior Division are also able to participate in special day trips and our camp overnight. Parents are welcome to contact us to discuss this program in more detail.
